An absolutely charming, Art Nouveau pin, the gemstones set in a stylized, floral motif, in colors that match the Suffragette Movement's colors of the Art Nouveau period. The Old European cut of the diamonds helps to date the piece. The colors of the Suffragette Movement were purple, white and green, and the purplish-pink color of the pink sapphires in this pin certainly fall within the range. This delightful piece of jewelry combines two diamonds, two pink sapphires, an emerald, and a seed pearl, set in satin-finished, 14kt gold. A beautiful example of Art Nouveau jewelry, known for, among other things, its soft, flowing lines and floral motifs.
This Art Nouveau pin weighs a total of 4.4 grams. It is set with 2 faceted pink sapphires, each approximately 3 x 3mm; 1 square, faceted emerald, approximately 3 x 3mm; two Old European cut diamonds, with an estimated weight of 0.12ct total; and one seed pearl. The setting is 14kt yellow gold, with a satin finish. It is unmarked, but acid-tested as 14kt. The pin measures just under 1 inch in diameter. It fastens with a "C" clasp pin fitting. Please note that the point of the pin extends beyond the edge of the brooch, which is correct for the time period. The pin is in excellent vintage condition. There is an extremely small indentation on the right front of the pin. It is so shallow and small that it appears just as a slight shadow.
This wonderful pin will arrive in a fine quality presentation box.
