A fine Art Nouveau lavaliere necklace, featuring two yellowish-orange, faceted citrines, seed pearls, and a small diamond, set in a hand-crafted, yellow gold mounting that epitomizes the soft, curved lines that distinguish Art Nouveau jewelry, suspended from a 14kt gold chain comprised of the classic "paperclip" links popular in the early 20th century. A superbly-made pendant, reflected in every detail, from the well-executed facets of the citrines to the artistry of the gold work. The artistry continues on the back of the pendant, where the jeweler has continued the scroll motif in the gold mounting. And in classic Art Nouveau style, a small, 0.03ct diamond sparkles just above the smaller, pear-shaped citrine, while 3 small seed pearls embellish the central lines of the pendant. A gorgeous example from one of the most romantic periods of jewelry in the last century.
Total weight of this delightful lavaliere necklace is 7.0 grams. The larger citrine, an oval, faceted cut, weighs approximately 2.8ct, and is vivid, yellowish-orange in color. The smaller citrine, matching in color, is a faceted, pear-shaped cut, and weighs about 1.3ct. (Weights calculated by formula). The mounting and chain are 14kt yellow gold, acid-tested, and stamped on the reverse of the pendant, "14K". Three small, natural seed pearls are on the vertical section of the pendant, and the overall necklace chain measures 15-1/4". A diamond of approximately 0.03ct completes the design. The length of the pendant is about 2", and about 3/4" wide. The necklace is in excellent condition.
This exquisite Art Nouveau lavaliere necklace will arrive in a fine presentation box.
