Art Nouveau is one of my very favorite jewelry periods, and one which, since it was short-lived, has left far fewer examples than other periods. It seems to me that it is also a little neglected, as a period, compared to Victorian or Art Deco. So, I am very pleased to offer this exquisite 10kt gold Art Nouveau pin, featuring a woman's face in the center, and surrounded by the flowing scroll work typical of Art Nouveau. At the bottom of the pendant, a mabe (half) pearl adds an elegant accent. This beautiful pin would also make a unique pendant, and a jeweler could very easily adapt it for that purpose. Crafted around 1900, this is a classic example of Art Nouveau style.
Total weight of this charming pin is 2.6 grams. It is crafted in 10kt gold throughout, unstamped, but acid-tested. A mabe pearl of approximately 2.5mm is set at bottom. The pin stem is secured by a safety catch. It measures approximately 15/16" wide x 15/16" tall. It is in very good vintage condition, with an aged patina that is perfect to the piece.
This delightful pin will arrive in a navy blue velvet pouch.
