Offered for consideration is a beautiful Rookwood pottery vase from the very beginning of the Arts & Crafts time period. It is tall, measuring 9" in height, with a mustard/mocha brown-colored glaze and is without any chips or excessive finish wear. The finish is not perfectly-uniform over the vase, but the underside has a hand-signed "X" which is the original factory indicator that something about the vase was less than perfect. The underside is marked with the Rookwood hallmark and "XXV 1369D". There is an old, lightly-discolored crack found that is shown in the photos. There is no separation to the form and the vase is very solidly-intact, but the flaw is present. Still a most impressive piece for any collection! It will be double-boxed very securely for shipment.
