Rare and stunning, antique, completely hand painted Haviland Limoges cabinet portrait plate dated to 1888-1896.
A beautiful lady has been painstakingly brought to life, stroke by delicate brush stroke, in the top medallion on this antique porcelain cabinet plate. One look at the incredible attention to detail, the fine lines in the paint strokes, the shading and the artists ability to capture the essence of the serenity of that gorgeous woman, is enough to make one catch their breath.
The hand painted roses are delicate and very finely done. Even the thorns on the rose stems are visible to the naked eye. Lots of raised white enamel highlighting on the rose petals, the ribbon work and surrounding the portrait medallion.
A beautiful letter "M" has been hand painted and surrounded in fine, roman gold coin with swirls and raised, white enamel highlights.
The border of this antique Haviland Limoges hand painted cabinet plate is trimmed in gold.
This antique plate is in excellent condition. It displays far less than expected wear and appears to have never been used. The gold trim is 99% intact. The painting is virtually flawless and with the naked eye, one cannot detect even the slightest missing flake of enamel or scratch on the surface of the paint.
