Beautiful Webb or Mt Washington Cameo Glass Biscuit Jar
This piece is straight from my personal collection, and fresh to the market. Over the years I've seen two other almost identical biscuit jars sold, one was attributed to Thomas Webb and the other was attributed to Mt Washington, so I'm not entirely sure as to the maker, but both sold for good money.
This lovely cameo glass biscuit jar features opal glass cased with dark jade green and a lighter pastel green, which was acid cut back and engraved to make a lovely scene of oak leaves and flowers. There are four scenes around the biscuit jar with various variations of the oak leaves and flowers. The handle, lid and attaching metalware is silver plated (plating is tarnished a bit), and the base has a large polished pontil.
In outstanding antique condition, no chips, cracks or other issues.
I've included lots of photos to represent the piece, please take a look and please message me if you have any questions.
