Rare Museum Quality Museum Quality Harrach Moser Josephinenhütte Dunkelgrün Glass c.1860
Here's an absolutely fantastic Green Dunkelgrün glass with FOUR embedded roundels made of white opal glass! Center roundel features a beautiful large portrait painting of a lovely Antique head of a young woman. Delicate gold painted acanthus leaves cover the entire surface of the piece, they are in as perfect of condition as they come!
Now comes the truly unique part of this wonderful piece, it includes three more white opal glass embedded scenic roundels!! Each is painted with a different scene featuring 1) a cottage next to a stream with mountains in the background, 2) a church next to a stream with mountains in the background, and 3) a man walking a road next to a village in the hills going towards the mountains.
I've never seen one as fabulous as this, the condition is outstanding (the gold is almost always worn on these C.1860 pieces), and this is the first plate I've seen with roundels going around the parameter of a plate. This is truly a museum quality work of art.
As Moser, Harrach, and Josephinenhütte produced these, it's almost impossible to determine who the exact maker was unless the piece is signed. The Moser, Harrach, and Josephinenhütte books all show almost identical examples, which are dated c. 1860's. In excellent antique condition with general wear commensurate with age, no chips, cracks or other issues.
I've included lots of photos to represent the vase, please take a look and please message me if you have any questions.
Dimensions: ~ 8-1/2" in diameter, the gilt decoration is in EXCELLENT CONDITION, really a Museum Quality piece!
