Here's an absolutely super quality piece of mid 1850's Alabaster glass from either Josephinenhutte or Baccarat.
This piece is a bit unusual. The exterior sides of the vase were done in an acid matte finish, the inside top and base were left glossy, as was the applied snake. When they did the acid matte finish, they also left a glossy pattern of acid etched leaves (difficult to photograph, but please see the last photo).
The base has a large polished pontil, with a "F." gilded in gold, and there's also an acid etched "6" 90 degrees to the F.
Size: 11" tall, 4 1/2" wide. Condition: Excellent. Maker: Attributed to Baccarat or Josephinenhutte. Vintage: c. 1850's.
