Here we have an extremely rare find, a Rare Otto Prutscher Likörglas / Wine Glass Executed by Meyr's Neffe, Adolf C.1906.
Otto Prutscher was a member of the Wiener Werkstatte, which means Vienna Workshop. It was founded by Josef Hoffmann and Koloman Moser. Prutscher was a student of Josef Hoffmann and then he went on to teach. Not only did he design glassware, but he also designed furniture and very fine silver.
These were very difficult to make. There are three colors, the color on the outside was the bolder color, which in this case is ruby glass, it is cut to clear, and further accented around the bowl by a design of applied blue accent glass dots. Meyr's Neffe had to cut away after the glass was made to make these designs, a very painstaking tedious process only achieved by master glass craftsmen.
Otto Prutscher stems made an appearance on the Antiques Roadshow, you can watch the video if you search the PBS Antiques Roadshow web site with "Otto Prutscher Goblets by Bakalowits" or if you google this search it should be the first hit "Otto Prutscher Goblets by Bakalowits Antiques Roadshow"
