This is a decorative Georgian 15ct gold blue stone solitaire gemstone ring. The gemstone is claw-set into the ring, in lovely condition and of size diameter 5.25mm. It exhibits a medium to dark blue hue and is housed into a basket-like structure with twist gold loop-work below. The gemstone is exposed to the reverse side of the head of the ring. The upper regions of the shank are 'bifurcated' with V-shaped open-work and bobbles between. The mid-lower regions of the shank are 'deep, single grooved', all features attributable to the late Georgian era. There is a worn '15ct' gold stamp mark on the inside circumference of the shank which equates to the gold fineness of the ring. Size 'P'(US), 8.0(UK). Weighs 2.8 grams. The ring is in excellent condition throughout and without repair --- a pretty Georgian example.
