This is a pretty Victorian 18ct solid gold 5-stone diamond and ruby gemstone ring in which the gemstones are claw-set in an alternating configuration. The 2 diamond gemstones are 'old-cut' type and each of 0.03ct weight. The 3 ruby gemstones are each of size 1.25mm and of lovely quality. All of the gemstones are housed into a slender marquise shaped panel and exposed to the reverse side of the head of the ring. There is 'tooth like scalloping' to the upper and lower regions of the head of the ring and 'scroll engraved markings' to the upper regions of the shank, attributes which enhance the character of the ring. The ring exhibits a full Birmingham 18ct gold assay hallmark for the year 1897 on the inside circumference of its shank. Size 'I'(UK), 4.5(US). Weighs 2.1 grams. The ring is in excellent condition with genuine gemstones and full authentication for its year of manufacture.
