This is a superb quality antique 18ct solid gold red enamel and full seed-pearl gemstone 'cocktail' ring. The central pearl gemstone is of size 6.0mm and exhibits a beautiful warm lustre glow. The head of the ring and upper regions of the shank display alternating and swirling streaks of red enamel and 'simulated engraved leaf markings'. The maximum width of the head of the ring is 12.0mm. There is an '18k' stamp mark on the inside circumference of the shank which equates to the high gold purity of the ring. Size 'N'(UK), 7.0(US). Weighs 6.7 grams. The ring is in exceptional condition throughout with all red enamel intact, a genuine pearl gemstone and without repair. A lovely eye catching item of fine antique jewellery.
*A cocktail ring is a large, dramatic ring often worn at cocktail parties. During the Prohibition in the US, women often wore these rings at illegal cocktail parties, where they flaunted the fact that the wearer was drinking illegally, and was doing it with style.
