This shell cameo pendant was made during the 1930s Victorian revival when everything old was new again! The oval cameo features a classical woman in profile facing right. The carving is all white and the background is a subtle pink. She wears a toga and her curled hair is in an upswept style. The cameo is set in a decorative 10 karat yellow gold oval frame.
The cameo is 17 mm x 14 mm (11/16 inch x 1/2 inch) and the frame is 25 mm x 17 mm (15/16 inch x 11/16 inch) including the bail. It weighs 1.5 grams.
The frame is not marked, but it tested as 10 karat gold.
The cameo and frame are is in excellent condition, but the attached bail is thin at the top.
