This Art Deco ring has a deep, rich red octagonal carnelian stone in a sterling silver bezel setting. The bezel surround is detailed with a slightly raised zig-zag design on the four straight sides and has raised dots along each of the angled corners. The shoulders of the ring have a three lobed, three dimensional architectural style design in a light and warm copper colored metal that is inset in a rounded triangular recess. This element is highlighted by two concentric arches that surround the concave rounded triangular design. The outline of the high bezel setting mimics the angular octagonal cut of the stone.
The ring is marked "sterling" and tested as sterling silver.
The carnelian stone is 22 mm x 20 mm (1/4 inch x 7/16 inch). It sits about 6 mm from the finger. The ring weighs 5 grams and is a size 10 1/2.
The stone is in excellent condition with no chips or scratches. The ring was sized at a previous time and the shank is slightly out of round as seen in the photo.
