This sweet sterling silver pin from the Victorian period has a bird and flower design that is raised from the surface of the pin body. These elements are incised with lines to give added depth to the nature inspired themes. The pin has cut out sections that form representations of leaves and flowers. The Victorians` loved the outdoors and often depicted trees, birds and floral designs in their jewelry.
The pin is hallmarked. The stamp for Birmingham, the letter date for 1901 and the maker's mark of "J&G" are stamped on the back. It is also marked for silver and tested as sterling. It closes securely with the time appropriate c-clasp.
It weighs 3.1 grams and measures 1 3/4 inches x 3/4 inch (4.3 cm x 1.9 cm). It is great condition.
