This robin's egg blue enamel Victorian piece can be worn as a pin or a pendant. The wonderful blue color and the smooth enamel surface makes the pin simply glow. At the center of this lovely pin is a 3 mm pearl with gorgeous luster. The pearl is prong set in a six sided silver star.
The back of the pin has a glass set in a 14 karat yellow gold frame that opens to allow the wearer to put a memento or a lock of hair of a sweetheart or a dear departed loved one. The pin extends beyond the face and it has a c-clasp as was common in Victorian jewelry.
The pin is not marked, but tested as 14 karat gold. The glass is present, but has some tiny chips to the edge of it. The enamel has a chip at the bottom of the pin (please see photo).
It is 30 mm (1 1/8 inches) in diameter. It weighs 9.2 grams.
