This antique pin has a bow motif of diamonds set against green enamel and surrounded by a ornate gold frame. It also has a pearl as well. The bow is made up of sixteen round bead-set rose-cut diamonds with one round bezel-set rose-cut diamond in the center to imitate a knot. The accent diamonds range from 1 mm to 2.5 mm and the center diamond is 2.5 mm.
The green guilloche enamel allows one to see the surface beneath which glitters and shimmers like the diamonds. These elements are enclosed in a highly decorative frame.
One of the greatest features of this pin is that the element below the bow which includes accent diamonds and a milky white pearl which is "en tremblant." The pearl is 4.2 mm. It is a separate section that moves on its own. These portions of this style of jewelry would give the piece that extra "wow". The diamonds, enamel background and movable section sparkles and gives this piece that extra "wow."!
The pin measures 1 3/8 inches x 1 1/8 inches (31 mm x 35 mm) and weighs 10.9 grams. There are no marks, but the back tested as 10 karat gold. The front is 10 karat gold filled and does have wear. Four accent diamonds have chips that can be seen with magnification. There is also some crazing beneath the enamel surface.
