This vintage ring has a rich red round cabochon coral stone prong-set in a dazzling 18 karat gold ornate surround. The decorative setting has two concentric rings of flattened 3 mm wide textured yellow gold resembling undulating streams of ribbons. The is twisted wire work in between each curve of the outer circle. The ribbed surface reflects the light and makes the gold shine brightly. The high setting, when viewed from the back, is decorative as well with six open lobes around a center open circle. The band is tapered at the shoulders and widens as it wraps around one's finger. It is so comfortable to wear!
The ring is marked "750" and "12 12 AL". It tested as 18 karat gold. The coral is 9.80 mm in diameter and the ring face is about 18 mm. The ring sits about 10 mm off the finger. It weighs 4.6 grams and is a size 5 1/2.
