Today I am selling a gorgeous Art Nouveau lion bracelet. On the front is a raised, repousse lion head with pink paste eyes and a red glass stone between its jaws. Flanking the head are curved filigree pieces also accented by red rhinestones. The front is wider with an open center area while back half is a simple band. The whole thing is made out of gold plated brass. It is very faintly stamped 'F&B' for Foster and Bailey on the middle interior of the back half. The clasp is tight and stays closed securely, and the hinge moves smoothly.
CONDITION: Very good for its age. There is an odd clear lacquer on most of the bracelet that is flaking off in some spots. All of the stones are bright and intact, and seem to be original. Minor tarnish and wear to the gold plated brass, especially around the filigree segments.
CIRCA: 1890s to 1900s
MEASUREMENTS: interior diameter is about 2 1/2 inches at its widest and the front is almost 1 1/16 inches at its tallest; fits wrists up to 6 3/4 inch circumference
