Today I am selling a beautiful Victorian cameo pendant. An elongated oval coral cameo in a pale pinkish orange color depicts a lady with a flower in her curled hair wearing a Classical outfit draped over one shoulder. It is bezel set with two oval rings framing it, the inner one enameled black and the outer one a thin gold band. A diamond in a raised prong setting dangles from a loop below the cameo. A round jump ring is connected to the loop at the top, ready for a chain. It is not hallmarked but the frame acid tests positive for 14k gold, while the drop tests positive for 10k gold.
CONDITION: Very good for its age. No wear, cracks, or chips to the shell cameo; just a little dirt in the crevices. A 5 mm section of black enamel is missing from the right side of the pendant; it was either poorly repaired or painted over with black, so it isn't very noticeable. The outer ring is slightly misshapen. The diamond drop has no issues that I can see. Minor tarnish to the 14k gold, mostly on the back and edges.
CIRCA: Late Victorian era
MEASUREMENTS: 1 9/16 inches long including jump ring and drop, and almost 11/16 of an inch at its widest; weighs 3.5 grams
