Today I am selling a wonderful Victorian sterling silver book locket. It is rectangular in shape with small silver beads dotting the outer edges. The front is decorated with silver lace like filigree pieces applied vertically down the middle, which are enhanced by additional etched patterns on both sides. A large tapered sterling bail is attached to the loop at the top. There are no glass covers or silver rims left in the interior. It is not monogrammed on the back. It is not hallmarked, by acid tests positive for sterling silver. The hinge moves smoothly. There is a small gap when it's closed, but it stays closed securely.
CONDITION: Very good for its age. Minor general tarnish to the front, mostly around the applied pieces. All of the beads along the edges are intact, but a couple are slightly dented or crushed. A few pin point dents on the back, along with numerous scratches. As stated in the description above, the glass covers and rims are missing, and there is a small gap when closed.
MEASUREMENTS: 1 11/16 inches tall including loop but not bail, and 1 1/8 inches at its widest including beads
