A very rare and exceptional condition wooden figure from a Catholic Church, European, ca. 15th.-16th. century.
This catholic renaissance figure finely carved in a dark wood type, was likely carved in Germany or the Netherlands and dates to the very early period, perhaps even late 15th. century.
The figures depicts a seated mature or elderly woman which is most likely Maria Magdalena, She wears a cloak with hood outside her gown. Very attractive with finely carved details. A small masterpiece, once priced 3000 USD, we got it as a good price and can sell it at a true bargain.
Condition: The wood is in a fantastic condition for the high age, and the figure is only missing it's original loose hands as is usual for these early figures. No heavy insect bites or drying as is usually seen. The piece was treated with wax.
Height: 28 cm.
