Museum Quality massive pottery Horseman, dating to the Ming Dynasty (1364-1644 AD).
The largest type of Tomb pottery horsemen we've ever handled or seen on the market. A massive warriour on horseback in realistic proportions and of a sculptural quality that is rarely seen from this period. The figure in armor equiped with a fine style helmet, boots, a large curved sword and a spectagular Dragon shield. This figure is one out of just 4 of these giant horses in similar style, that we have in stock and they are as detailed and attractive as Tang Dynasty tomb horsemen.
Size:: The full figure measure 49 cm. in height. The horse alone ca. 38 cm. high and the length is 42-43 cm. The weight is 6-7 kilograms.
Condition: Superb for type, some typical degradation and wear to pigment but basically intact with a few very minor chips.
