A pair of rare and very large pottery figures of attendants or officials, dating to the earlier Ming Dynasty, 1400-1500 AD.
The figures stands on high octagonal plints in fine two-colour blue & Torquised glazed robes. The belts in red pigment and the high hat in black pigment. Fine painted facial details.
The heads are attachable as often seen on the largest figures from this period. One holds a blue and torquise box and other holds an torquise incenseburner or lamp.
Size: The figures measure c. 40-41 cm. Very impressive and heavy conversation pieces!
Condition: Superb, finely preserved glaze and pigment, undamaged and no repairs.
