A matching pair of a female and a male attendants, China, Ming Dynasty, 1369-1644 AD
This pair comes from a very rare group of 'Edged' Tomb pottery figures.
The shape of the figures are sort of edged or flat in the design and they are standing on a pair of rather peculiar bases, we haven't seen before. They are clad in fine two-colour blue-glazed robes. The male with a high black hat, and the female with an ornate headdress.
Size: Large and massive figures, the male ca. 32-33 cm. high and the female around 31 cm.
Condition: Superb! Wonderful glossy glaze and exceptional details of preserved pigment.
