Massive Chinese bronze mirror, dating to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 AD)
Large circular mirror with inverted rim and plain round central knob, decorated with four Chinese characters along with eight Taoist motifs and dogs running around the central knob. The mirror has an antique costum-made black wooden stand, with carved rams head at each side. Important display stand with a label in the bottom, written and dated february 1899! The text in Danish dates the bronze mirror, with local name of finding place inside China. From the collection of H. Wilgaard. Diameter: 21,5 cm. Height: 36-37 cm. incl. the stand
