A specimen of the worlds first paper money!
China, Ming Dynasty (1368-1399)Board of revenue, 1 Kuan or 10000 cash, printed on mulberry bark paper and stamped with the red seal of emperor Hung Wu. Renowned collector and engineer Sofus Black (1882-1960). Black was stationed in China from 1902 to 1931. The present example was bought at a famous Danish Auctionhouse and has never been on the market since Sofus Black aquired it. Condition: Superb for the type and age with nice clear stamps. There's a small fold in one corner but no tear or wear. An exceptional rarity in an unusual condition!
