In 1924 the Lanston Monotype Machine Company of Philadelphia sent out to prospective users this 16 page advertisement for a new type face by Frederic Goudy, Italian Old Style.
"The new type itself, though showing the study of several of the best early Italian faces, reminds me strongly and admirably of Ratdolt's fine Roman. Single letters of the font are quite full and round enough to look well in lines of almost any length, and its close fitting makes it especially suited for composition in narrow measures..."
Like Deepdene, also shown, this is one of the classic typefaces, no longer to be seen on the computer in its purest form. This is for true lovers of type.
