This is the last serialized episode of H.G. Wells War of the Worlds, Chapter 21. It would have been the first publication of the book. This was commonplace to serialize before publishing. Illustrated by Warwick Goble.
Other articles of interest, as you can see from cover shot, are Russian Humanity (" in the prison system of Siberia that I finally saw, their sympathy and humanity were the traits that first attracted my attention.....The military character of of Russian institutions dwarfs individualism, but in doing so also dwarfs the development of a great deal of brutality..."). Obviously Solzhenitsyn never read this article.
A Brief history of our Late War with Spain, Pompeii...a varied list of subjects.
As with the November issue there are umpteen pages of ads including: Artificial Light ("Equal to Sunlight, almost as cheap - Napheys' Acetylene Gas Generator"..); Free to Bald Heads; and one of my personal favourites, Lewis Union Suits. These were one piece garments for men and women. For women, considering the already elaborate nature of their outerwear, these would seem to have been a logistical nightmare when considering basic needs.
But back to the War of the Worlds. The issue is in very good condition and the whole issue makes for fascinating reading.
Thank you for looking. I will only ship to countries to which the package can be tracked.
