This c.1900 German doll is labeled Pansy III, Germany. This was probably imported by George Borgfeldt. The face reminds of an AM Queen Louise. But there is no maker identification. Her head is fine with no cracks, chips, or repairs. She still has her original mohair wig. It is a little sparse center front part area. Her body is very nice, with original finish and expected joint wear, with the top of one thigh reinforced and all stable. Pansy has long real eyelashes as well as finely painted ones. Her eyes open and close freely. She is dressed in a vintage replacement 3 piece mariner's outfit made from navy blue flannel and lighter blue oxford cotton. She has a onesie undergarment on made from finely knit cotton-like a t-shirt. She still has her original German shoes on. The toe area on one is coming apart a bit and need to be glued again. She has cotton replacement long socks on as well. In the middle of her forehead is a small white area. It is a paint skip done in the factory and is factory glazed.
