This lovely baby doll bonnet is all hand sewn with tiny hidden stitches. The front brim is trimmed in three ruffled rows. Behind these ruffles are four rows of tiny embroidery. Between each row is a casing with tiny string within. These strings tie at the top of the brim to fit the head snugly and are concealed on the underside of the bonnet. At the center back hem area is another casing with string to tie to fit the babe's head. The bonnet back circle has hem stitching circular trim, feather stitching and very fine tiny pleats. The bonnet has just been laundered and pressed and condition is very nice with only one dot spot on one of the casings. There are no repairs. It was made before 1900 and came from England. The doll model has a 14" head circumference and the bonnet fits perfectly.
