American landscape by Bruce Crane(1857-1957), a major artist of the tonalist movement, born and died in New York. Crane was strongly influenced by the French Barbizon school. Maintained a studio in Old Lyme, Ct and later in New York. Member of the National Academy of Design, the American Watercolor Club Society, the Society of American Artists, the Salmagundi Club, and others. Numerous museums including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., and others. The painting is in excellent relined condition and in a custom gilted wooden frame. 14” x 20”unframed, 27” x 33”framed.
