Sterling silver teapot by renowned London silversmith Hester Bateman(1709-1794) made in 1786. Referred to as the “Queen of Silversmiths” she was working from 1744 to her retirement in 1790. The teapot, with her expected beaded edges and pineapple finial, is also engraved with garlands and flowers, but no monogram. It is in excellent condition with no damage or repair, and only minute nicks and wear associated with its age. 6”high x 11”long x 4”wide. Weighs 12 ounces.
