A pair of tall and distinctive sterling silver candlesticks made in Sheffield in 1777. The datemark is significant because datemarks were not first used until 1773, therefore these are very early examples.. The makers mark is rubbed but the other marks are discernible. The candlesticks appear to lean in some of the photos but actually they stand straight.

The beautiful candlesticks are the columnar form banded together at the top and bottom. The ram’s head draped by beads is a fine neoclassical feature. Very good condition with only minor dings here and there. They measure 12.5” tall.
