An aqua half gallon six sided fruit jar embossed vertically “PROTECTOR” and with the number 5 on the base. Has a ground lip and ramps for engaging the soldered tin top. It is bubbly and in very good condition overall. The patent dates to 1870 and was assigned to F. & J. Bodine of Philadelphia. Great collector piece. Measures 9.5 inches with the top.
