A monumental oil on canvas of Monhegan Island, Maine by Maine artist Theodore Tihansky. Tihansky studied at the Lyme Academy of Fine Art in Connecticut where he was later awarded the John Stobart Landscape Fellowship. Opened his own gallery on Franklin Street in Newport, Rhode Island in 1995. He lived off and on in Maine and often worked on lobster boats and painted scenes around Monhegan Island. The painting is in excellent condition with very minor signs of wear or distress. Measures 4' X 6' unframed.
