A pair of smoothe lip half pint American fruit jars embossed "Ball IDEAL". The clear one also has the date July 14th, 1908. These jars were made in the 1920's. I can find no reference for the half pint in blue. Both have their original wire bails and lids. The patentee for the jars is Anthony F. McDonnell of Dunmore, PA and they were made in Muncie, Indiana. Both jars are in excellent condition. The blue one has just the slightest roughness on the the inner lip. Half pints are the scarcest size jars. Each jar is 4" tall and has abase diameter of 3".
