A nice aqua half gallon fruit jar embossed "PET". It is hand blown and has a smooth tooled applied lip. The correct lid is embossed "PATENTED AUG. 31st 1869 T. G. OTTERSON". Missing clamp to hold down lid. Patented by Thomas G. Otterson of Camden, NJ. The maker in 1872 and 1873 was Lorenz and Wightman of Pittsburgh, PA. The jar a small chip on the lip and the lid underside chips, none of which are seen when the lid is in place. The height is 9.8".
