A rare set of 10 Sterling silver place spoons by famed English silversmith Hester Bateman who lived from 1709 to 1794. She is known as the "Queen of English Silversmiths" and began operations on her own when her husband died in 1761. However, most of her silver to be found today is from 1774 to her retirement in 1790. This set of spoons is in excellent condition. Monogrammed in capital letters on back side. Most hallmarks are clear; however, the maker's on one is present but rubbed. Two others are slightly rubbed. No damage or repair to any of the spoons. They measure 6.75"long and weigh about 10 ounces.
