A magnificent 18th century carved giltwood and painted(light green) French Trumeau mirror, c. 1775. Has the fine Louis XV features of flowers and vines under a ribbon swag. The oval oil on canvas of a courting scene with a sheep looking on has been professionally cleaned and is exceptionally well done. The mirror is in excellent condition with only minor flaws as would be expected for its age. Still retains it original paint, gilt, and mercurial mirror plate which has some losses. This fine mirror is from a private estate in the Washington, D.C. area. Great size and proportion. It measures 62.5"high and 39.25"wide.
