A city scene "Place de Clichy" in Paris by Louis Battin c. 1880. Battin was known for paintings in oil on canvas in and around Paris. This may be the finest painting to come to light by Battin. The painting has fine detail and coloration. It was acquired from the estate of Ruth Sternberg of New York City. It is in excellent condition with no repairs or damage. Signed in lower right. The gold frame is contemporary. Measures 18.5" X 22"unframed and 24" X 27.5"framed.
