A two-drawer Continental, German or Italian, mahogany commode c. 1910. Has neoclassical features such as the string inlay in top and drawers, and marquetry inlaid horse drawn chariot with a winged mythological figure holding a flag. Built sturdy with canted cornered top and legs. The piece is in excellent condition, made of hand dovetail constructed case and drawers, and retaining its original locks and hardware. It has good color and a nice warm finish. No work needed to place in a home. Measures 38.5" wide X 30.5"high X 16.5"deep.
