Impressive c. 1820 porcelain famille rose armorial sauce tureen and matching cover. Painted enamel figures and flowers in garden scenes. The crests read "Optimus est qui minimum urcetur". Has gilted highlights including the artichoke finial and interlaced handles. Provenance is Christie's New York, Sale 9724, Lot 265, Jan. 23, 2001. Normal gilt and paint wear commensurate with age, but no cracks. Measures 6.5"high X 8.5"wide.
