A tall and early pair of French solid brass candlesticks c. 1720. A fully developed form with base and knob ruffling and keen faceting of the plinth. A silvery color tone to the metal as opposed to a dark gold. They are in excellent condition with very little pitting or blemishing. One is soldered shut and cannot be unscrewed. These are for the serious candlestick collector. This form is referenced on page 188(example A) of Herbert Schiffer's THE BRASS BOOK. They measure 10"tall x 5"base diameter and weigh about one and one half pounds.
