C. 1860 Napoleon III mahogany center table with a scalloped carrara marble top surrounded by a gilt bronze pierced fretwork edge. This is a high quality piece that still retains much of the original gold on all the mounts. The gilt mounts include the inset panel edging, the rosettes on the frieze, the capitals on each leg, the arched stretcher features, the beading on the legs terminating in sabots, are all in excellent, original condition. There is a single drawer with its original lock and escutcheon. Because of all these fine features and secondary wood of oak the piece was likely made in Paris. Measurements are 33.5" diameter x 30.5" high.
