A superb c.1910 American mahogany server. Custom bench made in the classic American tradition, this serpentine fronted inlaid piece has all the bells and whistles. The interior has three felt lined hand dovetailed drawers and a single shelf. The woods are mahogany( structure including top, legs, case, drawers and drawers interiors), flame mahogany veneer(exterior drawer front, oval panel doors, case sides), maple(top edging, case stringing, conch shell and bellflower inlays), satinwood(cross banding), ebony(stringing). The secondary wood is poplar(back panels and underpinning). The piece has a beautiful polished finish and outstanding color. It is in overall excellent condition with no structural damage or repair and with only minimal age appropriate dings and wear. It is a piece that, because of its size and features, would work in a variety of settings such as a dining room, bedroom, or hallway. The measurements are 39"wide x 36"high x 19"deep at the middle and 16"deep at the sides.
