Frank Hider(British 1861-1933). Known for painting bucolic Scottish landscapes such as this one. A large oil on canvas in original fine condition that has created a time-softened mellow patina. It is in its original re painted frame. Hider is listed in major references such as Davenport's Art Reference and Price Guide". In addition to landscapes, he painted coastal and genre scenes, many of which have been sold at British auction houses such as Bonham's and Billinghurst. The luminous sky of this painting is particularly well executed. The painting is signed in the lower left and bears the label of Tudor House Galleries.
