C. 1780 Exceptional English period breakfront bookcase in mahogany constructed in nine sections that fit together. It has such impressive features as stop fluted columns, astragal upper doors with all sixty original panes, and carved medallions. Made of beautiful Dominican mahogany. Has its original adjustable shelves. The piece is in excellent condition. The fine professional polished finish was done about 12 years ago when I purchased it. It came from a house in Annapolis, MD which was demolished for road construction and I still have the picture of it unrestored in the house. One of the carved medallions is metal and not original to the piece. And a strip of thin plywood was added to the top(not visible from the floor) so that objects could be placed on top of it. The piece measures 99" wide x 93" high x 18" deep(maximum).
