C. 1950 oil on cardboard attributed to Morris Gerberg, a Russian-born artist 1893-1964. This small painting has been adapted to a contemporary frame. Gerberg resided in Brooklyn after studying at the Warshawsky Art School. He was both a painter and a cartoonist. He is listed in "Who Was Who in American Art", Vol. 2, page 1269. The painting and frame are in good condition. Signed "MG" in lower right and has a pencil notation on reverse. I have owned the painting for more than 20 years. It measures 8.25" x 10" (unframed) and 13" x 16.75"(framed).
