A mahogany bed steps/stand with original inset leather in very good condition made by John Taylor of Colchester(see label) in 1813. Taylor lived from 1775 to 1845 and was working at 40 High Street when this piece was made. There is 1.5 " missing chip on the side edge that is not noticeable when the unit is closed and an old wormhole that can only be seen from the underside of the case. Labeled period pieces such as this are scarce and make for an interesting provenance. The measurements are 27.5"high x 17.5"wide x 27"deep.
